Start with the lighting outcome
LED lighting for product displays, counters, shelving, signage, windows and customer-facing environments. The best LED solution depends on the effect you want, the area being lit, the installation surface, the available power location, the control method and future access for service.
LED lighting can be incredibly flexible, but that flexibility creates choices: voltage, wattage, strip density, driver type, diffuser style, channel size, dimming method, colour temperature, IP rating and mounting location.
Key planning points
- Decide whether the goal is task lighting, ambience, accent lighting, display lighting, signage or wayfinding.
- Measure lengths and allow for driver location, cable route and future access.
- Check whether the LED needs to be dimmable, colour changing, smart controlled or simple on/off.
- Consider heat management, aluminium channel, diffuser quality and visibility of LED dots.
- Use suitable fittings, drivers and installation methods for indoor, outdoor or wet-area conditions.
